The headline win came in red. At Barcelona, Lewis Hamilton won for the first time in Ferrari red, his 106th Grand Prix victory and his first in 686 days, and cried “Grazie tutti Maranello” on the slow-down lap. The day turned three laps from the end, when Antonelli's Mercedes stopped from second and the lead he carries shrank from 66 points to 41. In the F2 feature the same afternoon, Rafael Camara took his maiden win from pole.

Le Mans produced an upset to match it. The No. 7 Toyota of Conway, Kobayashi and de Vries started the 24 Hours fourteenth and won the 94th running by 10.913 seconds over a factory BMW, the marque's first at La Sarthe since 2022. Two safety-car resets did the work a fourteenth-place car could not do on its own, folding a deficit into a Toyota 1-3 and ending Ferrari's three-year hold on the race.

Hamilton’s tears at Barcelona close an 18-month argument about Ferrari
Four words in Italian on the slow-down lap, with 686 days of waiting behind them. At 41 Hamilton became the oldest Grand Prix winner since Brabham in 1970, in red, on the weekend Alonso said his goodbye on home soil. The strategy belongs to the race report; the relief belongs to the move everyone spent a year doubting.

Toyota wins Le Mans from fourteenth on the grid as Ferrari’s three-year run ends
Fourteenth on Saturday, first by Sunday afternoon. Conway, Kobayashi and de Vries let two safety-car resets pull them back into a fight their stint pace could not win outright, then held a factory BMW at 10.913 seconds. Behind them, the closest a factory LMDh has come to outright victory, and the end of Ferrari’s grip on La Sarthe.

Thank you for being one of the first to subscribe; having you along this early means a great deal, and we intend to earn it. It made for a fitting weekend to arrive in, too, with Toyota winning Le Mans from deep in the field and Lewis Hamilton taking his first victory in Ferrari red.
