Marc Marquez won the Czech Grand Prix at Brno by 0.421 seconds, his third win in four races, while the rider who leads the championship watched from outside the gate. Marco Bezzecchi sat out a one-race ban for pushing and slapping a marshal after he crashed from the sprint, and the FIM rejected Aprilia’s appeal to let him ride. Ai Ogura took a maiden pole on a Brno lap record and finished second in both the sprint and the grand prix, with Francesco Bagnaia winning Saturday’s sprint and holding third on Sunday. The arithmetic did the rest: Jorge Martin could manage only ninth with a double long-lap penalty to serve, so an absent Bezzecchi still leads, by eight points now instead of fifteen, and Marquez has closed to within forty.

Jake Dennis won the Sanya E-Prix from pole for his second win of the year, after a five-second penalty for Felipe Drugovich turned an Andretti one-two into second for Pepe Marti, up from eighteenth on the grid, and third for Nyck de Vries, a week on from winning Le Mans with Toyota. A lap-19 red flag came when championship leader Mitch Evans tangled with Zane Maloney and retired, but Oliver Rowland crashed out of a likely podium soon after, so Evans’s nineteen-point lead held, the same margin he carried into the series’ month away. Neither points leader took the flag this weekend: the one who crashed kept his lead, the one serving a ban saw his cut to eight.

MotoGP banned its points leader for hitting a marshal. He left Brno still leading.
The penalty was never in doubt: strike a marshal, and the FIM calls the sanction non-negotiable. The argument is about proportion. Aprilia called a one-race ban excessive for a leader fighting a title, the stewards pointed to safety and a thin 2021 precedent and rejected the appeal, and so Bezzecchi sat out Brno. Marquez won and closed to within 40, yet the championship still belongs to the man who never left the garage, by eight points. The ban, the appeal, the precedent and the marshal's own account, in one place.

Formula E's top four scored nothing at Sanya. Evans's lead survived a race he never finished.
Jake Dennis won from pole, but the result that moved the title was the scoring nobody did. The four drivers at the head of the championship, Evans, Rowland, Mortara and Wehrlein, came away from Sanya with nothing between them. Evans went out in the clash that brought the lap-19 red flag, Rowland crashed from a podium place soon after, and a nineteen-point lead held for the simple reason that no one behind it could take a point off him.

Pedro Acosta spent the Brno race chasing 1.80 bar, not the bikes ahead.
Behind Marquez, the order came down to a number rather than a horsepower figure. To hold his Michelin front above the mandated 1.80 bar, Acosta surrendered two places and tucked into the hot wake of slower bikes to keep the tyre warm and legal. On a resurfaced, record-fast Brno, that window shaped the race more than any engine did, and the rule that forced it traces straight to the pressure sensors creeping onto road bikes.

Fifteen of 22 F1 seats are open for 2027. The clause that could free Verstappen is about to lock him in.
Seven drivers have signed for 2027. The other fifteen seats, Verstappen's among them, are unresolved, and the Red Bull exit clause that was meant to give him a way out needed a top-two championship place by mid-season. He is seventh, sixty points behind Lewis Hamilton, and the window is closing. Mercedes, meanwhile, holds two open cockpits and the lever the rest of the market is waiting on.
