This is a Tuesday Briefing, one day later than usual. It was the editor's birthday yesterday. Thank you for your patience, and for your time in a busy week.

Lando Norris led the first Grand Prix at the Madring from pole and finished third. On lap 13, Lance Stroll's Aston Martin stopped at Turn 20 with a brake problem and the Virtual Safety Car came out. Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen and George Russell all pitted under it. Norris was already past the pit entry, so he could not, and Antonelli won by 4.351 seconds. He said afterwards that Mercedes probably did not deserve it. It is also the second Sunday in a row that Stroll's car has brought out the Virtual Safety Car that decided a race.

At Misano, Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of the lead on the first lap and Marc Marquez won for the 78th time. He sits at the top of the MotoGP championship for the first time this season, level with Jorge Martin on 274 points. The Austrian Grand Prix is on Sunday 20 September.
